 Preschool Program

The Preschool of First Presbyterian Church has been in operation since 1959.  We provide individual and group experiences adapted to the needs of three, four and five year old children.  We share with parents some of the responsibility for sound social, physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual development.

Daily sessions are planned and directed by our professionally trained director, Mrs. Kay Boyd.  Mrs. Boyd has over 30 years of experience working with children. 

The Co-op class is complete with two-to-three parents who are scheduled to work under the direction of Mrs. Boyd. Parents who are scheduled to work are essential to the operation of the program.  It also gives the parent a chance to see their child in a different setting, socializing and learning with other children.

The Non-Co-op class is completed by a Teacher’s Assistant.  The T.A. works closely with Mrs. Boyd and has specialized training working with children.

The Preschool reflects the concerns of First Presbyterian Church for the Christian Education of the preschool child.  Christian Education is a vital key to the program.  Prayer, religious songs and stories, observance of Christian holidays and Christian love from the teachers are included.

Daily Schedule:

·      Arrival Time and Circle

·   Choice Time: arts & crafts, table top puzzles and fine motor manipulative skills, game table, play dough, painting, imaginative play areas, building blocks, large and small trucks, other seasonal activities planned by Director.

·    Music – Finger Plays

·   Snack Time with Blessing

·   Story Time

·   Large Muscle Play (indoors/outdoors)

·   Dismissal

Times:             Co-op Tues/Thurs 9:00am – 11:30am* Class limit of 20 children.

                        Mon/Wed/Fri 9:00am – 11:30am** Class limit of 20 children.

*A child must be 3yrs. old by Dec. 1^st

Transportation is the responsibility of the parents.  The school will provide information to help form car-pools.

Registration Fee and Materials Fee: $25.00 (nonrefundable) payable with completed application. $25 material fee due Aug.15^th.  Please make checks payable to First Presbyterian Church.

Tuition:  Nine equal monthly payments may be made, payment is due on the first of the month.  Yearly payment is accepted.

                   EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM TUES/THURS 12:30 –3:00pm

This is a program that has been popular with our preschool families. The cost is $10.  Only children who are enrolled in the preschool will be accepted.  There is a limit of sixteen children.  Please provide their lunch.  Lunch will NOT be provided.  Rest time will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. Snack will be served at 2:30.
