Sunday Morning Youth Class

Our families have busy schedules yet I know your faith is important to you. Since your families are already at church most weeks, this fall I am offering a mini youth class on Sunday mornings. My goal is for the kids to establish and build relationships and feel connected to other young people in the church. I also want to help them on their spiritual journey in a setting that is comfortable and age appropriate.

The youth meet the second and fourth Sundays of the month during worship. I will use the “Life with God: Engaging Biblical Stories and Practices for Spiritual Formation,” curriculum from Renovare.

Over the fall months we have studied the creation narrative and the roots of Israel. After the kids created their own family tree, we identified Abraham and Sarah's tree. This core knowledge of the Biblical narrative provides an understanding of how other characters and stories fit together.

This winter/spring we will study the five remarkable women who appear in the lineage of Jesus - Tamar, Rehab, Ruth, Bathsheba and Mary.
